About Town

Checked out three places last night. "815 L Street" - very little happening there, because it was early and it was a holiday. "Broadway" - I liked this place on Swing Dance Wednesday, but it was Hip Hop Friday, and the place was real different (actually it suffered from the same problem as the other place - not yet enough people, because it was early and it was a holiday). Then later, after 10:30 p.m., "Faces", which seemed in full swing, or at least in better swing than the other places had been. Enjoyed myself, but it was strictly a solo kind of affair for me: dancing alone and talking mostly to myself. But it was interesting to see what's going on around town. Wonder if I'll ever end up on this Web Site?

Laptops

With Steve's beneficent help, Katherine Arthur's laptop is finally up and running. Someone at Dell will have to stick their nose in the old one and find out where the burnt smell is coming from. These little devices look really handy - the technology is really sharp. But now the hard part - opening the bill, and seeing what the damage is.......

Hallelujah!

And hallelujah again!

Home Improvement

Well, after the repair, the back porch is now a little safer. No more can you feel the soft squish of rotten wood when you stumble down the back steps. Now all I have to do is replace the light over the back porch: stumbling down stable steps is only slightly safer than stumbling down squishy steps, when in complete darkness.

Independence Day

Well, looks like I'm getting "dumped." And no Manifest Destiny anywhere in sight.......

Howard Dean

Took a brief look at Howard Dean's blog. So far, I'm not impressed with Dean - he's a blowhard, and pompous to boot. But his methods are of great interest - actually using the power of the Internet, rather than just talking about it. The future starts here! Others have commented as well. O Brave and Glorious New World!

For the doubters among us, a sign from God

Hallelujah!
